The measures of the table are 7'-10 "- 23" - 3 1 / 4 ", big is better...., i was clear about the table that would make, the size and shape , I had to decide how to construct the board, and wood used.
The first thing I said is that the hollow wooden surfboards are constructed as a hollow vessel, a stringer which supports a longitudinal cross-ribs, this is the skeleton which defines how the table and is lined with wooden boards in the same way as if a boat built in the traditional manner.
As you can see there are two ways to lighten the ribs, round holes or square holes, I opt for the round, reduce less weight, but the plywood weighs very little, if you use solid wood rectangular holes may be able to do, but is a heavier work.
After mounting the skeleton stick the board above and below to the bottom and deck, this board will Gluing pieces of wood, the same type of wood or of different varieties.
Once glue stick and brush the edges to shape.

It was clear I could make a wooden surfboard, now had to choose the type of table and draw plans, I had two options, one get a surfboard, measuring and drawing plans, another possibility was to seek designs for a wooden surfboard existing , none of the two possibilities fully convinced me, it meant making a difficult job or make a surfboard that would not be as I wanted.

Coincidentally, one day I went to the factory watsay , I saw there made the tables, as they give shape to a milling machine controlled by computer, they use the "3D Shape" to generate the shape of the table, and looking at their website I discovered that you can download a trial version to test it, I was doing different designs as I'd like my table, longest, widest, most roccker, however could not use that information because it could not export the design to any software to draw the plans.

I was like at first.

Always had the ability to buy the designs in hollowsurfboards or woodsurfboardsplans, but I am not convinced by the idea.

But one day I discovered a post on the forum www. maesitos.com, and finally all my doubts disappeared.

This post spoke of akushaper that was similar to 3d shape, but has a free version that lets you export files and with the software HOLLOWBOARD TEMPLATE MAKER you can draw designs.

You always find something at internet ...

As I already have 37 years I decided that the board should float a lot, so it would be wide and thick, and should have a retro style, so it would be a longboard, but I did not want to be too long, I chose a 7.10, with little rocker to make it fast, some sharp 50/50 rails towards the end to take control and maneuverability, and a straight tail.

I already had the design, now must choose which type of construction choices, solid edges or edges hollow, made of cork or wood, all done with Pawlonia with plywood or cedar.

The internet search was long and intense, crushing the words table, wood, woodensurfboard, and little by little I discovered that I was not crazy, but had a bunch of madmen in the world.
I found several websites, http://www.timberlinesurf.com, http://hesssurfboards.com, both are web pages of companies that make wooden surfboards and began to learn that the wood used in North America and Australia, red cedar and white cedar, and especially the Pawlonia or Kiri wood.
Later I found four very interesting sites because they are pages of amateur people, then I realized that my idea was feasible, http://www.woodsurfboardplans.com, http://www.grainsurf.com, http://www.grainsurf .com / forum and http://www.hollowsurfboards.com.
At the first site bought the manual for 20 euros in PDF format, with the manual and the content of the four sites I got an idea of what was done on a board of wood and materials needed.
Was clear that my idea was feasible, there were more people who did the same and that documentation had to carry it out, now had to decide which table and wanted to do was to draw the plans.
Next step, the big decision.

Opened the post with this blog.
I think almost all my friends already know the story of my surfboard wood, especially so insistent that I have been, especially my poor girl, but for me not paying attention or those who have miraculously escaped or I do not know who will start from the beginning.

Noting the wave of www. magicseaweed.com, one day I saw an advertisement that caught my attention, wooden www.grainsurfboards.com, surprise entry into the site and discovered a part of surfing that is completely unaware of, is a company in northern New York, Maine, and mounted by some friends who are dedicated to producing kits that made her a surfboard at home, or you make the table using the fact is that I was very interested, but the kit plus shipping to be too expensive, even with the dollar at 1.4 euros, the fact is that this does not discourage me and I kept looking on the internet to see what was.
